Barrack v Me. Winner: Barrack!
January 27th, 2009 | Barrack Obama Blogging | No Comments »It’s been one hell of a week if I had to say so myself. I will also say so for Mr. Obama without his direct permission for a quote. I just have this feeling being the first black leader of the Free World filled with throngs of hopeful citizens waiting for change sun up to sun down has to be a little daunting. I’m not sure which angle he is being analyzed at is worse or where to even begin taking my own look.
Luckily, my left-handed leader appears much more able to clear than air than what I imagine the McCain/Palin party would be doing right now. Somehow I think the signal for a close to Guantanamo would have been the signal for the opening of Guantanamo II, The Alaskan Refuge (Refuse?). Palin would have started catching and converting the criminals on the West coast herself leaving Cheney to cruise the halls of Gitmo for some down home “chatting”. I’m not sure how we pulled off opening our own military style Ibiza in the first place but I’m looking forward to it’s proper closure and transfer of criminals back to a land where a law exists for both sides.
Me, I sold T-shirts, ate some afghan food, and watched a bunch of 30 Rock episodes (Tina Fey is a lefty!!!! and supports Obama! although maybe not im in Season 2 and she revealed her inner truths).
Winner: Mr. Obama
Speaking of both sides….I am glad to see once again Barrack has chosen to let neither political side truly have a say in a woman’s right to abortion by allowing funding to return to places that perform them and promote birth control. The priorities of President’s is interesting to watch as this was G Dubs first order on the first day in office.
I supported a woman’s right to other women outside Cafe du Nord Saturday night and we made it our top priority to be friends from that moment forward. So…..
Winner: Obama (practically a freebie)
Mr. Obama is once again on the verge of letting researchers take advantage of the power of stem cells to hopefully regenerate life for many who have lost some form of theirs. The last eight years truly illustrated the lack of separation of church and state and I am overjoyed that if nothing else President Obama puts back as best a wall he can to allow science to continue without the pressures of religious dogma staring it down. ”To restore America’s competitiveness, we must recruit a new generation of science and technology leaders by investing in diversity.”- Obama. aka more cell lines.
I once again have opened up additional resources to the science side of my life this week by taking my first class at the California Academy of Science Docent program. There I will be enlightening the masses with the absolute beauty of science in countless forms. Hopefully one day we can all appreciate the value of science in every aspect of our lives and will be ready and willing to share our cell lines.
Winner: Tie (Both of us haven’t completed our goals but the potential for change is equally there for both)
Mr. Obama also signed an executive order to forbid the use of torture along w/ the Guantanamo plug pulling in hopes of allowing us to once again be considered a civil society as we portray ourselves so well in media and gossip magazines. Hopefully slowly but surely we can look past the days of waterboarding and Abu Ghraib F’ed up Funhouse Time and consider those dark times we have once again tried to move beyond. It will not only the orders being signed and created but the clarity to the people to prove they are being followed to win back the American trust this economy and society is desperately in need of.
I did not hit anyone this week! Or torture!
Winner: Me (sorry Obama but I took a much more simpler route and was able to complete more of the task)
That makes the score: Obama 2, Me 1 and 1 Tie.
I can’t say that I’m not happy to see that Obama has beat me in the overall productivity and world-changing department in his first week but I definitely think I put up a good fight. If I had some prisons to close or a past CEO religious hooligan to clean up from I probably would have had more point earning potential too!
In any case, I am happy to report that we have less than 30 Shirts (Tina where you at?) left from our first print run of LeftyLikeMe.com and I can’t be any prouder of the success of this endeavour so far. I truly hope to make this a very unique and fun sight for lefties (and those people that think they are right) to come and share their stories, opinions, and artwork with a community of fellow fans. I am going to try and stay up with our first lefty-honored President and keep up with the communications on a regular basis and keep this going in the right direction. I am thankful to my small group of personal bail outs that I have behind the scenes investing their time into slowly making this ugly baby of a site shine. In the very near future we will have a section specifically designed to share art of fans and members focusing on a certain lefty theme but for now we are staying with the Lefty Liberal Ladies Man himself President Obama. So jump on the message boards and post your comments. Start uploading (I hope that is possible now but if not soon!) your own fan art (photos/collages/poems) and start coming up with some ideas for Lefty Like Me logos because the contest ends Feb. 20th and we are actually giving away a prize!!!!!!! (I hope this technically allows me to put game show host as a job title somehow….somewhere). Check the forums for the prize info (hint: you could use it to display a lot of letfy artwork with it).
Thank you all 0ur newest LeftyLikeMe fans rocking the shirts out there and get ready for #2. I think my next one is really going to heat things up……
