And Now For Something Completely Different.

And totally cool.  My buddy did this for an interview job using flash/tech stuff/etc.  It is a very wild and crazy view of a bike ride we did from Berkeley up to Richmond and back.  It is definitely worth playing the game through twice to eat the meal AND go on the mystical experience.  Choose #1 first if you really like a good meal and #2 if you really like some mystical aka puking experience.  Hats off to the random robot guy/bird too.

My apologies to the few people a day that on average visit this site that I don’t do a daily dosage of Mike D’s digression but I really can’t say I feel too bad that I don’t have time for this blog as I don’t have time for barely anything.  Don’t think for a second that I am not always preparing for the Grilled Cheese world and soon I will start getting more serious about the sammie smack down but for now I can officially say that tomorrow is my first day as an Academy Docent on the floor….@nightLIFE.  I am stocked to done the orange jumpsuit and share the little knowledge I know about the vast world that makes up all things water.  I never thought about how truly unique my experience there will be and I am definitely going to try and share some of it here with pictures as well.  It only took me the first day when we were told we could take a break and I walked outside the room to an empty museum with only me to explore it.  I have already faced-off with the T-rex on the second level numerous times in my head but also know considered that it would be also cool to see it battle the Blue Whale if it was somehow possible.  As in if the T-rex got to take one bite and the whale got to take one tail slap…..I imagine thats kind of even.  This is nothing compared to when I walked downstairs for the first time in the museum and came across the California coastline tank.  There was the world that I knew lived under and around the Farallones Islands right in front of me with rockfish by the dozen lying about explaining instantly why they are so easy to catch out there.  The first night I only probably saw a quarter of the bottom floor by myself just to truly look in each tank and see everything.  I already enjoy talking and sharing stories with many of the docents old and new as everyone has some interesting stories and reasons why there are there as well.   The first pictures I have (and will post I am just too lazy to get them as I write now) is of the Philippines Reefs which is probably one of the most beautiful tanks and reefs (although at the moment most of the reef part is artificial)  I have ever seen.  What makes it even more amazing (and a cool fact to know if you are a true fan and go often) is that they said its only about half full as of now!  Well I meant to really only write one sentence about all of this but it is hard to hold back.

On a true Lefty Like Me note I am hoping to make one special edition (and very limited quantity) Grilled Cheese shirt and our next design in the true Lefty Like Me series entitled “Lefties are Always Hot.”  To boost sales on these newest items in these trying times stay tuned for a recession proof guarantee.  If you lose your job the day you get our shirt……..we will take it back from you!  Stay tuned and enjoy the interactive video (I hope to have more of these I just need more willing flash artists….*cough* *anyone* *cough*…..

My first Etsy sale!

February 16th, 2009 | Barrack Obama Blogging | No Comments »

So we sold our first Obamii shirt on Etsy today! Hoo-ray to the girl from Illinois! Much love to get some representation out there.   The funny thing is I made a quick run to the nearby Walgreens in the pouring rain while already quite under the weather and as I am hurrying in to prove to my roommates I can do it in about 10 minutes a woman outside in the pouring rain asks me if I want to buy an Obama shirt.  I proceeded to lock up my bike and scream in the downpour to the woman that I actually sold Obama shirts myself.  At first I was glad to see that Obama shirts were still a wanted item but after about 5 minutes of being stuck with the woman asking me to spell etsy at least 10 times my attitude was a little less patient. .  E s t y.  E x t y. E s t y. E t s y.  E…..what? and so on.   I still tried to help……competition is good for markets right?

I actually have been quite far from my little lefty world for a while due to some long work days and my take on of becoming a docent at the Academy of Science in SF.  I have to say that of all my volunteer jobs this was is unique because it is an absolute honor to work there.  Most of my previous jobs have been fun, rewarding, moving, and so on.  The Academy, however, has opened the doors to so many resources, outlets, opportunities, angles that I am not even begin to understand where I want to dive in.  For all you SF folks if you haven’t already heard the museum has started doing a NightLIFE program on Thursday nights till sometime in October.  What this means is the world’s greenest and newest museum in the world that people travel far and wide from with friends and families is being offered for 21 and older to come chill in on Thursday nights.  Sans kids, strollers, screams, any full family unit of any kind and instead is full of young adult and old with food, booze, and a DJ to boot.  I’m not sure what the animals think of electronica but just like the rest of us it grows on us after a couple nights.

I don’t plan on giving up on my lefty legacy here though.  I am hoping to become more loyal to you visitors and making more of a reason to come and stop by more often.  Very soon I hope to have a somewhat nice looking ARTS section that shares some personal art and future art for sale.  I would like to do another Obama shirt for sure but think we are fist going to go with our Lefty standard.  This next shirt is going to allow all lefties to be proud of how they are……..and its definitely going to be a “turn on” whenever someone sees it.   I am hoping we can sell the last of the Obama shirts (mostly XL and S left so come on all ye outiers!!!) and look to posting the next shirt on our one month anniversary to when this all began…..Feb. 20, 2009.  Wow….Obama has only been in office a month and its already this crazy.  God bless America and President Barrack Obama through these times.
